Been trying to sell my DSLR for a while now but can't get rid of it. Where's the best place to sell it? I've heard selling it to a camera shop gets you ripped off so any other ideas?

    I assume it's on adverts.ie?

EDIT: Found it, looks like a good deal to me...

    That's why I don't understand why it's not selling.

Amazon has the newer model for €440 delivered.

Your ad is also very confusing. There are prices all over the place. One minute it says its 450 for everything, then it says 500 at the end. Just edit the add to have one overall price

from looking at Ebay its still overpriced - unfortunately when selling people dont care how much you have paid for it or how new it is....all that matters is they get it cheap.

granted you have a 6month guarantee left on it - which is a bonus for a new buyer.

there are pro cameras on sale for a fraction of what they were/are new (Ballyman is selling a 1D mkII for €850ish I think - these are about 2K new and were about 3.5K when he bought his, similarly with PCPhoto his two 1D mkII cameras one has recently had the shutter replaced so no pictures have been taken with the camera and he cant seem to sell his for around the same price as Ballyman...Ballyman's camera had the shutter replaced and at last count was at 5K-ish according to his advert)

people dont want to buy ....at least not if they can get the same thing cheaper elsewhere.

Yes but I'm offering the 75-300mm lens included in the 450 euro asking price.

you may be offering an extra lens but its the older version of the camera - there is a newer one - and most people who take photos want the newest model.

sell lens separately. lens hold value a lot better. if have no other lens get cheap kit lens (18-55mm). have to factor in newness factor and full guarantee in price.

+1 to this. Make a separate add for the 300mm lens and see if you can shift that first. Then worry about the camera. You could get €150 for that camera and then sell the rest for 300/350.

I find selling separately is always a great way to make the most money. I was selling an Xbox before with 4 games. Wanted 230 for it with the games. Sold all the games separately (bar one) and sold the console for 210. Ended up making more by selling separately.

    I'm guessing this one?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-75-300mm-4-0-5-6-III-Lens/dp/B00005K47Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319736039&sr=8-1

you'll probably only get a 100/120 euro for that secondhand I would guess...
