Just wondering what the Three network (both for calls/texts and internet) is like in Cork city? City mostly as at home I will have wifi!

    Thanks in advance :D

As far as I've heard it's very good.
You can see the coverage map on three.ie.

Fairly rubbish to be honest. I live and work in the city centre and model farm road and it's highly erratic. Half the time I pick up the phone It will be on GPRS. And it's not just me either. My gf has the same issues and (really weirdly) has noticed that every time she crosses the new footbridge by popes quay the 3G goes. The only other guy in work with an iPhone on three has the same problem. My experience was with the 3GS and the 4. I'm using an x10 mini at the moment and still have the terrible reception issues but the se will recover to 3G far faster than the iPhone. Three's prices are great but there's no way I'd sign a contract with them.

I'm not in the City centre that often, but when I am, I never have a problem with Three's reception. Usually bangs in around 4 or 5 bars anywhere in the city. Thats with an iPhone 4.

Absolute rubbish data reception. I was with 3 July 10 when the iphone 4 first came out. Managed to get out of the contract after 3 nightmarish weeks - (comreg had to get involved as it was past the 10 or 14 day cooling off period). I work smack in the city centre in a large business and last week i met a guy i know in the building who had picked up the galaxy s 2 with 3 about a month before. He's stuck with them for 24 months ouch and it practically never works for him. He has told me he only really uses the internet now at home in the evening when he has Wifi access as its not worth the hassle of browsing with 3! Having said the i have a 3 mobile BB dongle myself as it was the only provider who had coverage where i'm living at the moment and guess what it works great there! But that is a long way outside the City!!
