Positive summaries of the candidates

Only a short while to go until the vote and almost all the threads about the election are negative toward the candidates. This is very unfortunate and I think different media elements are responsible for this but thats another days discussion.
Is there an appetite for looking at the positives that the different candidates can bring? Perhaps people can put forward the positives ONLY for their preferred candidate or candidates. It will no doubt not grow to long but voting is tomorrow and some people still have not decided who to vote for. I will start with someone who is'nt doing well in the ratings and I won't vote 01 for but I think has got alot of good points all the same, Gay Mitchell.

There is alot that Gay could bring to the job- he can relate to most of the population as he is from a hard working backgound. He has many achievements, the most notable in my knowledge being the work for developing economies. This is the way forward for these economies allowing them to prosper as equals rather than charity. The role as president would be well used for pushing this agenda particularly in the current economic climate. Thus far he does not as I understand it recieve pensions for his years as a TD and as a minister. In relation to the constitution he seems knowledgable. All through the election he has been honest with his opinions even when people would say this was ill-advised. This honesty and fighting spirit would mean where necessary he could put the pro-Irish message across positively no matter who the audience were.

Anyone can put the positives for candidates if they wish rather than negatives about candidates they don't like. It doesnt matter which of them but they all have something positive.

This may not be scientific but I did not expect much response, me thinks we don't actually want a President. Perhaps a referendum on it would be good.

Maybe we just don't want any of those? The best option is Michael D., for me largely because he's better than the others, who run the gamut (in my opinion) from swindler to murderer to nutjob.

This election has made me realise what a good idea having an agreed candidate is !
