Fitting front mudguards using zip ties

I want to fit mudguards to my Boardman Hybrid but there are no eyelets on the carbon forks. I don't really want to fit Crud Catchers as they seem too fiddly and also I am running 25s for the Winter. Also I would rather use full mudguards rather than Race Blades.

Has anyone tried securing front mudguards with zip ties with any success? I don't think p clips will work on bladed forks so has anyone any other suggestions?

    Thanks,

    lpb

I used two zip ties on each side to secure SKS chromoplastics. Chose the widest zip ties that will fit through the eyelet of the stay wires. You can protect the forks with a slice of inner tube or similar. 3 winters done and still holding.

Will give it a go then. Thanks for the tip about using an old tube.
