    Hi

My friend has a 2008 Mini Diesel - she drove it through a flood yesterday but it seemed fine. However when she tried to start it this morning it wouldnt start - battery seems fine engine turns but just wont start. Could it be from the floods - she is based in Dublin 6 area - any suggestions or advice on recommend a garage or mechanic

Its likely that water has got onto something electronic...

The engine itself won't be damaged if it ran fine after going through the water.

Thanks. What should she do? Will it dry out itself or would it be safe trying to start it again?

Leaving it to dry itself could lead to corrosion. It would be best to have a diagnostic test run on it to see what isn't working, then go from there..

Is she a member of the AA or does her cars insurance cover breakdown cover? Get her to find out. It could be something small.

Seems to be two completely different problems.

John's may not be getting fuel, possibly a relay, Del's may be more serious or just the battery.
