I want to apply Macc in Smurfit Then They told me I need full CAP1 exemption.
ACA is part of ICAI? what's the relationship between. I think ACA=ICEAW and why can't find the link to ACA in web of ICAI if ACA is part of ICAI

"To have achieved full exemptions from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland's (ICAI) CAP 1 Examinations. See http://www.charteredaccountants.ie/ for more details on these examinations. If you do not have full CAP 1 exemptions from your undergraduate degree you can complete your outstanding CAP 1 subjects as an external student with ICAI"----FROM UCD

    Thank you!

ACA is the international body- ICAI is the Irish part of this. So ACA exemptions are the same as ICAI. The below link details courses per college that will entitle you to received exemptions, over 50% per subject

So, that means ICEAW is the UK part of ACA ?

I have got F1-F5 exemption in ACCA ,Can I get some exemption in ACA

Yes ICEAW is the English and Welsh part of ACA.

For ACCA the examptions are based on achieving a 40% mark ACA it is 50%, thats the first difference, the F1-F5 papers are similar but there may be some differences, the following is from ACCA about exemptions.

Which body do you want to apply to if you want to do the Masters in Smurfit, this is focused on ICAI really and achieving CAP2 exemptions. Check the first link (2 posts up) to ensure you are exempt from CAP1 as if you do the masters without the exemptions in place the masters will not entitle you to any CAP2 exemptions

Each institute/college have negotiated separate exemptions with ICAI so it all depends on where you did your undergrad and what course you took as to what exemptions you will get and what classes you need to have taken on that particular course.

Getting exemptions from ACCA does not mean you will get the same exemptions from ICAI, you need to look at the first link I posted- find your college then course and will detail what classes you need to have gotten the 50% in to get the exemption by CAP1 paper, for example on my course to get the CAP1 Law exemption I needed to have gotten the 50% in 3 law courses I would have taken, the same for management paper and financial paper, Tax was two courses and also finance.

Hope this makes it more straight forward

    Financial Reporting in Year 3

that means I need bot item then I can get financial accounting exemption? Or OK if just pass the Financial Reporting in Year 3

You need to have done every class listed and gained over 50% each time to get the exemption, as per my understanding you did not complete Financial accounting in yr 1 therefore you would not get the financial exemption for CAP1, give the institute a ring in the morning to double check this.

You will also need an overall 2.1 degree to get any exemption at all i think.

CAP1's can be done externally also so as to have all exemptions before starting the masters, if you are missing an exemption- exams in June and September with ICAI. Don't do the masters without having CAP1 exemptions waste of time as you will have to sit all those exams again with the institute

A 50% pass mark is not required in all cases:
Eg: DCU's AF course v DIT's AF course

    http://www.charteredaccountants.ie/Students/Student-Services/courses/Exemptions/DCUBAF/
Requires only a clear pass without compensation.

    http://www.charteredaccountants.ie/Students/Student-Services/courses/Exemptions/AUNBSCAF
Requirement is as above but with the added of requirement of achieving a minimum of 50%.
