Hello my grant is supposed to arrive on the 28th of october im doing a level 8 course, but I havent received the form to fill out the bank details, I only received the email saying I m on the system, I have emailed my grant department (Tallaght Department) and asked why I havent received this, and they said my application is at the bottom and that I might not even make to the first instalemnt, I finished my application at the start of september, and I dotn understand why is it taking so long for them to check my application, It has passed almost 2 months since I handed in the forms and every document they asked, I look around the forum and I see people complaining saying they only got paid in febraury etcetc, I wonder if this is going to happen to me, and if this happen would they pay the 3 installements? I live in dublin but I travel everyday to carlow and that is costing me alot, my dad doesnt work and I dont know for how long Ill be able to afford travelling, is there anything I can do? somewhere else I can go and report this issue? Thank you very much in advance

If you submitted an incomplete application, you end up going to the bottom of the pile, and you might as well consider the application submitted when you have all pieces they want handed in.

If they dont pay out this semester (and this happens) You will still receive the full grant, you just might end up with the first two payments bunched together.

It is unfortunate that there is a delay, but civil servants dont get replaced and a lot more people have applied for college and the grant this year than before. Consider writing them a letter explaining your circumstances, but I wouldnt hold my breath. You can also see if your college has a student assistance fund that could tide you over.

Yes there is a student assistance place in my college but they dont give money for stuff as, travelling, eating in college etc.. I just find this really stupid if they cannot handle thousands of papers in 2 months they should employ more people, and there is a date for money to be paid and some people are not getting paid on the date, I dont think they care about us, I have missed 5 days already because some days I cannot afford the ticket, and I hope my college doesnt deduct any money

They cant employ more people due to the moratorium on recruitment unfortunately, hope it works out for you though
