what should i do with my iphone 4??

i ordered a iphone 4 online from 'Three' last November, received by post on 5th,nov,2010. I started having issues with people hearing me when i call them or i receive their calls about 3 weeks ago. My sound works perfectly through Facetime and thru mic apps. (voice memos, viber, tom cat..etc), tried everything possible to fix it by myself but didn't work.
So I took to fonemenders 2weeks ago, was told that my phone was out warranty, i contacted apple, was told the same that my iphone was activated in sepetember 2010, therefore was out of warranty, but i didnt receive the phone until 5th november 2010.
so i contacted customer service in 'Three' in india ( the stores in dublin wouldn't deal with it because i bought it online),they comfirmed my purchase date of the phone with Fonemenders, so people in Fonemenders took my phone in & agreed to fix it for me, happy days.. but just got back from Fonemenders, they didn't repair my phone cause the battery in my iphone is not the original battery, somehow someone switched the battery in my phone before i even received it( i never even thought of opening my iphone):mad::mad::(:(, .
i have been totally screwed on this one and im running out of options here guys, dont really know what to do with it. please shed some light on this.I'd hugely appreciated it. heard there is a representative for 'Three' on boards.ie, do you guys think i should make a formal complain on this matter?

P.S, i also send the confirmation to one of the supervisors in Apple, hoping that they could fix it for me, but was told that they need a scan or photo of the actual invoice(could not find since its been almost a year), a confirmation purchase letter alone isn't good enought:mad:

I believe alot of the 4 and 3GS phones sold by networks in Ireland this year where reconditioned iphones.
I'm not sure if they have to specify this on the receipt or not but I've had people give me "out of warranty" phones to repair and when I've opened them to find, rung screws, missing screws, missing parts, unoriginal knock off parts(including batteries, digitizers, aerials, etc) in them. When I queried this with the owners, they all claim the phones have never been opened before and as far as they were aware they were buying a new phone. I see this with at least 1 in every 5 phones I've fixed recently.
So I wouldn't think of it as funny to receive a phone with an unofficial battery or even missing part.

The problem you describe is usually due to grounding on the logicboard caused by loose or missing screws. around the rear camera on the phone

Any person on any network with an iPhone problem as far as I know told to send phone to apple. If any other company opened the phone apple will void the warranty.

I am on three and have always been told as has a friend of mine to ring apple care. You can go online on apple web site and enter serial number it will tell you if the phone is still in warranty. I have never once by apple been asked for proof of purchase.

In fact within the warranty year you can get apple care for 69 euro to extend warranty to 2 years.

Seems you have been given a load of bad advice by three. Ask three to send you original contract with date on it, and kick up.

BTW while it is possible to open an iPhone it's damned difficult, so you would have no need to. Also just curious how did they know the battery was not the original one.

If this is true then it is disgusting behaviour from the networks.

when i collected my phone from Fonemenders, i received a repair worksheet, in the technician comments section,it says: 'E7,sent to clondakin, non original battery, unauthorised repair'. thats all i got from them, the technician must opened it
i have requested the purchase confirmation from three, but not sure if apple would fix it after knowing that the battery is non original, the fact that my phone was activated in september 2010 annoys me so much, could my phone be refurbished? is there any way to prove it if it is?

The repair sheet proves it, go to 3 with all your proof. While any other network would prob give you a free 4 s 3 are usually a night mare to deal with.

Go to biz/talkto/three on the top of your screen. That will get you on the three forum.
