Viewing boards.ie on iPhone 4

Ok I've switched from 3GS to iPhone 4.
I can't view boards.ie in full site properly.
When I pinch outwards to expand the tab bar up the top doesn't expand.
Anyone know how to fix this?
The advert for journal.ie is taking up a lot of space on right hand side.

I could view perfect on the 3GS

I get the option to ''view full site'' at the bottom when i'm using my i phone, then the website comes up as normal

Yea I do that but I can't scroll to the right hand side. Eg when I open boards and I want to check 'tech' tab on top right I can't get the view to expand that far

Thats strange it comes up exactly how it should on my phone, does it happen with any other websites ?

No it's just boards.ie that it happens on.
Are u running IOS5 on a iPhone 4?

Yes I only updated to iOS5 last week but it has always worked perfect for me

What do you dislike about touch? not trying to be confrontational or anything but if you have some constructive feedback it will help us make touch even better.

ok can someone check that is using IOS5 on iphone 4.

Before i updated to IOS5 i could navigate the forum in full site mode without any problems using boards.ie beta skin.

now i cant zoom in properly eg if i want to zoom in on 'tech' tab from the home screen , it disappears from the screen.

Can someone try it please, as I want to see am i going insane.

i use the proper boards site on my ip4 (i hate the touch site too - the menus are awkward for finding what you want, it keeps clicking on things when im scrolling down the millions of alphabetical topics, and just in general the original site is better looking, faster to navigate and "usually' easier to use on a ip4)

there is nothing like that happening with boards.ie on my iphone 4 (i have ios5)

What skin are u using?
I tried it in my iPod touch and it's the same.
It must be a skin issue.
Can u try it on boards.ie beta skin and try navigate to forums and tell me.

It's just I didn't have an issue before IOS5

Right- think I have it sorted.
In the right hand corner I pressed the little wheel thingy and unticked 'lock navigation'

Hopefully back to normal now- strange I never had to do it before and I never changed a setting.

Full site works perfectly on my iPhone 4 with iOS5 too....


I also dislike the touch site. Its not a boards.ie touch site related issue, I generally prefer full sites even on small touch screens.

How are you guys getting the full site. I try to open www.boards.ie and it automatically sends me to touch.boards.ie
Edit: I'm also using iPhone 4 with iOS5

Scroll to the bottom of the page, Safari will have a link 'view full site'.

You'll get redirected to the touch site unless you've specifically tapped on this link, after that you'll always receive the desktop version. To cancel this just psychically visit touch.boards.ie again and that will remove the cookie that determines if you go to the desktop of the touch site.

I like it on the whole, but a few things are frustrating:

Nested quoting
Very intrusive adverts
Lack of modutils

I know that screen space is limited, but as I said in feedback, I think more use could be made of client side scripting to have pop-out options on threads etc.

Don't know why some people hate it so much, or why people are happy pinching and zooming on full size pages on a small device.

Boards was a nightmare for me on ios5, until this, take a bow iggy.....:D

I'm having the same problem. I can't find any wheel thingy in the right hand corner can you help me out.

I switched to using the main site with opera mini set to single column view, it takes a bit of scrolling at times but at least the text is a comfortable size and no need to keep pinch zooming.
