Need an echo fix for S2

This has my heart broken. Callers experience really bad echos when they're talking to me. Initially I thought this was due to the cover on the phone so I removed it. Unfortunately the problem persisted. I end up having to manually turn off/on the "noise reduction" feature everytime I'm talking on the phone which seems to fix the issue but this shouldn't be the case.

I'm rooted using the latest version of litening rom. Could it be the case that it's the rom that's causing this echo problem?

I need to fix this as I really like the S2, but I need the call quality to be the way it should be.

I've read various things on this on different phones.
Sometimes it can be a rom sometimes the radio that's with the rom.
If you can switch radios see if that helps ? or try a different rom ?

I was on villain rom before this rom and had the same story. How do I go about changing radios? Never did that before.
