I've had this problem since I started using Chrome - basically 4 out of 10 print jobs cause the browser to shut down completely. I get as far as the print preview and when I press Print it all crashes. Strangely it doesn't seem to be widely reported as a problem. I'm running 14.0.835.202 m on Windows 7 with a Canon LBP-1120 (USB) printer which works well otherwise.

What addons do you have installed, it possibly could be an addon causing it? Try disabling all addons one by one and see if you can locate the culprit, out of interest is the problem easy to recreate, certain sites or random?

It happens mostly (although this is the site I mostly print from so is inconclusive) with online banking (HSBC).

Addons are GMail lookup, Tampermonkey, Recently closed tabs, bookmarks, addblock and slash to search. I'll disable TM and RCT for now and see.

The online banking system may use Java, Flash or such a plugin. Chrome is known for having flakey plugin support. What I would do is manually update Flash Player, Java from www.adobe.com and www.java.com and see if theres any improvement. Also download and run CCleaner to see if it helps.
Good choices to disable to isolate the problems first, although with user scripts they are generally wirrten for a particular page, although some may be global.
daveyid89 if your having similar problems, follow this advise! Re plugins and addons

It's a very basic looking website and the crash occurs in the print preview window which is displaying just text with one small image. I just can't see how flash or java would come into play. I'm going to try messing with the printer settings to see can I find out more.

I don't see how printer settings would cause the crash though, its an odd issue, out of interest does the print preview show up for a second then it crashes? Or does it fail to show up completely? You may look into Reseting your profile to see if it improves things, backup your bookmarks you wish to keep before doing this! I was thinking if there was a Java Applet or Flash application on the page your trying to print it could be an issue, some online banking systems are rubbish and full of bloated plugins!
