Advice on potential problem for 04 Nissan Primera

    Hi all,

    Hope you might be able to help, I've a 04 Nissan Primera, I've owned it for 2 1/2 years now with 1 previous owner.

    Recently (Id say maybe a month now) while driving in different gears, when you press on the gas it sounds a lot more high pitched than usual, if I could compare it to anything it sounds more like a jet engine high pitch than your regular vroom of a car when you put the foot down,

    in the last couple of days more worryingly when I put it into reverse it chugs almost like its going to cut out and this would be while I coast, using reverse while the clutch has a bite, or even sitting still, and sometimes I'm finding it difficult to put it into Reverse or first gear.

    Anyone any ideas?
