I don't like shooting at anything over 200 meters. But I find it perfect out to that distance. The light is capable of more distance its just a personal choice that I dont go any further. I find them a great light.

I don't have a culite but I have a blazzer 240, serious light. I do the lamping and my buddy does the shooting, we shot a fox close to 500 yard's one night in a big field. he said he could see him clearly with the light.
The only thing he find's is that things seem closer than they are with the light because it is so bright.
This might be no help to you and if so Im sorry.

Hi Blackfox, I have used numerous lights including the old style clulite with battery pack and still think my Lightforce is hard beat. I also have a P7 which is ok but anything outside 120yds is a challenge. I dont shoot past 200 at night anyway as 200 is a long bloody way at night. The above poster said his buddy took a fox at 500 at night. I regard myself as not a bad shot but I wouldn't even think/consider or condone that kind of shooting at night nor during the day at game or varmints.

    Hi Kay9,

Yeah I know 500 yards seems crazy and it is. The normal we'd shoot would also be at the very tops 200 yards but we know the area we shoot very well and this was my own field which has a large hill as a back stop that we often use for target shooting. The fox was sitting at the butt of the hill just watching something when he took the shot. I just wanted to clarify that and I'm sorry if I'm going away from the original post.

As to would I if I wasn't there. I didn't take the shot so I have no reason to be boasting, I was only explaining to the man the type of distance of the lamp. We've been lamping for years and would never usually take a shot like that but only for the field it was in.
Sorry for upsetting anybody, I've only just joined but I think I got off on the wrong foot. It was probably a lucky shot, He is shooting as long as I've know him and he wouldn't be afraid to admit it was a lucky shot but it was close to 500 yards and he did shoot him.

i dont doubt that you can take a shot that far in the right conditions. i have taken a 400y fox my self one night. with the benefit of having a boards member there with me to back me up.
this was the rig i had
    28932440.jpg

i regularly shoot fox past 200y-250y..

i shot a fox last night at 235y that i could clearly see the fox threw the scope.

dont worry about lads that say you cant do that. they just havent tried it them selves and dont think others should if they cant ;)
