    Hi Guys,

Bit of a strange one. Basically small group of about 20 of us are being made redundant from a multi-national company. No union so we have to represent ourselves.

Basically the company have said that they will meet with us to negotiate our redundancy....

My question is what type of requests should we be making? The company is not going bust but our jobs are being moved somewhere that is an unreasonable distance away.

I know we are entitled to 2 weeks per year plus 1 week but what is a reasonable redundancy package to request given the circumstances?

If anyone has any suggestions where I could find out info like this please let me know. Citizens information/Nera will only advise on my statutory entitlements.

Offer a smooth transition and handover period, and in return ask for 6 weeks salary per year worked.

You could also look for bonuses if certain milestones are met

Ask for the redundancy terms take it away read over it, do not sign anything till you are sure, do not bow to pressure to agree terms on the day, normally its two weeks statutory plus 4 weeks from company, plus 1 extra weeks wages

Try for 4-6 weeks along with statutury..
Career transition services may also be helpful, some MN's give it..

Going to ask them tomorrow. Is there a way for me to get access to it without waiting for them. I can see them taking their time with this. Heard that they are going to only off statuary

For a company that is not going bust its a bit of a slap in the face!
