    Hi,
A friend of mine is working his wife is on disabilty.
So for example he ears 40k pa and his wifes disabilty is 10k pa.

    this is 2010

On his p21 he is taxed on 50k

    Jointly assessed
His credits are 3660 married couple
    1830 paye credit

As the disability is being taxed fully shouldnt they have an extra credit for that income. ie her paye credit should apply?

She should be allocated a PAYE credit indeed. Was the DSP Benefit under his or her income field on the p21?

    Disability pension is taxable.

However if they elect to be seperately assessed it will fall out of the tax net.
