Just wondering if anyone with some experience can help me out.
I'm heading to New York and I'm looking for Irish Pubs etc to play.
    I play Dubliners, Clanceys etc.

    Has anyone done this before?
It would help a lot to find out good places to go, how much I could hope to earn, generally how to go about things.
    Appreciate any help

    Cheers,

Dont know if its still there but Sean Ogs in Woodside would be a good place I would think
Used to be really good trad sessions in there about 11 years ago :o

course, after now writing all that out, Ive now realised how little chance there is of it still being there D'Oh !

i lived in NYC most of my life, your best bet is going to be the bronx, yonkers and queens. there are a few irish pubs in manhattan that do the type of music that you listed but its very far and few between. things have changed bigtime in NYC. check out the Irish Echo newspaper(i think that is the name) you might find listings in it or at least adverts of all the popular irish pubs, give em call.
