How do i pay?

    hi,

hope this isn't a silly question!

i entered the self assessment system this year, with some non-PAYE income from rental. as it's my first year, i realise that i can opt to pay 0 as preliminary income tax, and submit my return by oct 31 2012. however, as i have it in a savings account, i'd rather pay it now and get it done.

but how do i physically pay it? i'm registered on ROS, so do i set up a RDI? if so, how do i let them know that it's preliminary tax for 2011? there's no option for that, as far as i can see. or should i just pop a cheque in the post with a covering letter?

    thanks

It should be included in preliminary tax

    Hiya

Set up an RDI & once thats done you should be able to select the type of payment you wish to make, you should select income tax & the relevant year i.e. 2011 - it should be straightforward enough to do...
