Hi Guys,
This is a bit cheeky, but I was wondering if there's anyone from the Athlone/Ballinasloe area putting in an order with Thomann, I want to get a few packs of cheap strings, and don't want the carriage to take the good out of it. Just want some yuck cheap strings for testing pickups with. I paid €6 for a pack of strings the other day and had to take them off again to resolder a joint.
I'd be eternally grateful if anyone could help me out.

Have you looked at strings.ie. Very good service and I think are based in Mayo.

Thanks for the input guys, but at 0.98c for a pack of 10's, if the pickups I'm testing are ****e and I have to change them, I won't be thinking twice about pulling them out.. I just thought if anyone was putting in an order, the extra €40-50 might get them(and me) free carriage. Thanks again. I think I'll have to take the carriage hit. Thanks again

i was looking for strings a few weeks back for the same reason.....i found a seller on ebay selling packs of strings for 3.49 with free delivery.....they were Thomann strings but i think they came from Cork....ended up getting a few packs of 10's....only seems to be 9's or 12's left...

Don't thomann sell those strings for €1 per pack? I normally pick up a few sets when I do an order. Keeps some of my less good guitars in fresh strings instead of wasting a lot on good strings on guitars I barely play.
I highly recommend strings.ie though. I've ordered from them a few times and they had quick delivery and they take laser which is really handy. They were also really accommodating when I asked them to stock some strings for me.
