Thinking of changing from my touring Bike to a Lightweight Hybrid, I no longer tour, will use new bike for commuting.

I was hoping to get a hybrid with bars, which accomodate more than one hand positioin, to alleviate cramp , stiffness etc

Is a case of attaching bar ends to the existing bars, or can hybrids be got with bar ends, already part of bars.

How are bar ends attached to existing bars, are what stops them coming off, getting loose etc

My budget is 600-800 euro for new bike

Good god - there are some seriously scary bikes at that link.

OP, if you're spending 600-800 on a hybrid, your LBS will chuck in (and fit) some decent bar ends if the bike doesn't already have them.

The Ergon grips seem good. They go from this relatively teeny extension to this enormous behemoth.

In the case of those (and every bar end I've seen) they clamp on to the end of the existing bars with a collar that can be tightened to ensure they don't move around on you.

I believe they call it a road bike. You can get them with all the same mounts as your hybrid ;)

I've plain ergon grips with specialized bar ends outside them.
The ergon grips are pretty good ,they work best for me when I tighten my grip on them.I find the bar ends great for steep hills.

I've the old type that look like these Ergon%20GP1%20Biokork%20grips.jpg

    Heres mine
