I have been put on a 3 day week with work and am waiting on my claim to come through.
Last week I received the yellow slips so I presumed that my claim had been processed and I would be getting payment soon. I rang the welfare office today and was told that my claim hasn't been awarded yet.

Does it mean that I may not be getting any payment?

Am I going to be waiting weeks for payment?

Yer one told me nothing when I rang

Jobseekers Benefit claims are pretty straight forward, probably not much longer before its processed. A few weeks however is not unusual of a delay.

Also, the section that you talk to may well not have the information about your claim or may not have wanted to give this out to you if you had not received the letter, it may have been awarded. You'll find out soon enough.

If there is a significant delay and if your income is less than the minimum social welfare rate (186 for a single person, plus 124.80 for a qualified spouse/partner and 29.80 for each child), then you can apply for Supplementary Welfare Allowance to top up your earnings to this amount while your Jobseekers claim is processed.
