GBB Pistol Cold Weather Questions

I haven't shot my TM MEU for a while but used it a few days ago when the temperature was about 12C and even with the hop set at maximum, and allowing time between shots, the range I was getting was only about half of what I usually get. Last time I used it the bbs flew dead straight so I assume that the hop rubber is OK. This time I was having to hold over my target set at 20 yards by about a foot. Does the cold affect GBBs that much and is there a gas available which is safe to use with plastic guns during the winter. Thanks

In cold weather the buckings in hop ups will start to harden (both air temp and the cold gas passing over the bucking when fired ), this means that less 'hop' is applied to the bbs and range will be decreased in both aegs and gbbs.

Also low temp will effect the pressure of the gas and effect performance, although TM pistols due to there construction do not suffer as much from this as say a full metal WE or KJW pistol.

could just need a good cleaning, it may be something more technical but start with the less severe and easily solved problems and work up, I had a sniper rifle here to fix and i decided to take it fully apart and clean it, now it fires fine again.
