Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Marantz UD7006 on Techrader.com

The bit that confuse me is:
Another detail which we bet most users will miss is that the downsampling applied by default to the digital output seems to affect the analogue output, too. It's understandable that the digital output is converted down to 48kHz when high-sampling sources are played, because if this is connected to a typical AV receiver the latter probably won't accept high sampling rates

But surely the stereo audio output (at least) should derive the benefits of extended bandwidth? In practice, if the default settings are not changed, the analogue output is limited to 24kHz bandwidth – and the downsampling filter has rather poor performance, too, with deviations from a flat response (technically referred to as 'ripple') that are about the worst we can remember seeing from any digital equipment ever.
What language is he speaking?

Standard cd,s have a digital output of 16bit/44khz.
Standard DVD,s have a digital soundtrack of 16bit/48khz.

Some DVD,s and a lot of Blu rays have soundtracks that are much better than that, like 24bit/96khz, however if your amp cannot take those signals then the player would noy work with your amp.

What the reviewer is saying is that , by default, this player will take such material and convert it so that it will play it on any amp.

This is called downsampling and is pretty common , what is bad with this player though, is that it does it on the analog output too....!

It's not a big deal though , as this is just the default setting, so if your into high resolution music and movie soundtracks and have an amp that can do it , just go into the correct menu and turn off the downsampling.
