Can anyone advise me on which make and spec of PC i should purchase, predominantly will be using it for full suite of MS office i.e. word, excel, office, powerpoint and access as well as Autocad and a few other applications plus some gaming. Thinking of spending in the region of €500 to 600, Dell, HP, Packard Bell??? Should I go for the intel i7 chip or is the i5 generation sufficient?? Any advise welcome.

Dell, HP, Packard Bell are all the same.. its down to specs and prices. If you just want a PC you can buy and switch on, prob go with the Dell XPS for 569, its not worth it, and don't dare "upgrade" it on the Dell website, those prices are a total ripoff, but as a package its simple.

However for the best all round PC tailored for your needs its best to pop over to the building & upgrading forum (the recommended site will build the PC for you, but you do need to install Windows and some drivers yourself) However the end product would be infinitely better than the Dell at the same price.

    I strongly recommend the latter.
