REally enjoying getting into cycling and my Trek 1000SL is holding up well so far. However in the new year Im going to treat myself to a better bike.

Im willing to spend a fair bit to get something that will last me and get something of decent quality.

So far Ive narrowed it down to 2 bikes

    Cube GTC
    http://www.cyclesuperstore.ie/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=0&idproduct=47615

    Canyon Ultimate CF 9.0
    http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=2508

I know the Cube is more expensive but I can get 1000e of it on the C2W scheme so that makes them about the same price overall.

I know a lot of people are raving about the Canyons but my only fear is if I feck the sizing up etc itll wreck the whole point of buying it.

Anyone able to offer any advice or thoughts or even something else out there that fits in neatly at that price point?

Are there enough Canyon owners on here yet that would give you a gander at their bikes, help you inform your buying decision?

Or you could get yourself sized on a Cube and then compare the geometries of the two bikes (which is all available on the web) to get the best fit Canyon.

For what it's worth, they're both great bikes.

If you were buying from CSS, I don't know what they're like but you'd have to imagine there would be some fat in that sticker price for you to negotiate off.

I'd spend a few days and actually go and visit a lot of bike shops in Dublin as well. Go in with your budget, no messing, what can you do for me. There's a fair bit of margin in a 2 and a half grand bike, and booming bike sales or no, any bike shop and salesman worth his salt isn't going to let 2500 quid turn on its heel and walk away.

CSS would knock 10% off straight away. I picked that Canyon as the equivalent price match overall even though its cheaper than the Cube
