Help On Internships?

I'm just after finishing college in may and im currently not signing on.But i applied for an internship and just wondering what options are available to me?

Can i start signing as soon as i start work and get back payed and how long does it take to go through. the job is in galway

If you mean a JobBridge Internship, you have to be claiming Jobseekers Benefit or Jobseekers Allowance or signing for social insurance contribution credits for a minimum of three months before you become eligible for an internship. Details on the JobBridge website http://www.jobbridge.ie

The processing time varies - Jobseekers Benefit it is not means tested and therefore quicker. Your payment, if you qualify, will usually be backdated only to the date you applied for the payment, minus the first three days.

so would it not be possible for me to start internship and start getting dole from time i start job and just get it back dated?
