RTE Will "The Stars" move?

At last an RTE Boss with some idea of reality.

The current Dir.general has promised to cut the salaries of RTE stars by up to 30% and accepts that some may move.

About freekin time these Dudes were brought into the real world and their ridiculous salaries were pruned to more reasonable levels.

Don't think many will move though.....living high on the hog in the Pink Palace at tax payer expense is just too attractive.

Why did this take so long ?Yet Another example of public servive innefiecency and self serving.

Cut them...and cut them deep is the opinion of this poster !

If they have any sense they will stay where they are.

They should have the good sense to know that they are on the pigs back and will not get this level of pay elsewhere.

They wont stay because they are any good.

Where the fcuk will they go? Seriously. TV3? They will take the cuts and keep their mouths shut because they will still be getting far more than they are worth.

99.99999999% of them wouldn't even get jobs as lavatory cleaners if they applied at overseas networks.

get rid of the lot of them, won't cost much either
they all set themselves up as a seperate company so RTE would only have to pay the rest of the most recent contract, no golden handshakes, no unfair dismissal claims, no X weeks pay per year's service.

"Eatin Aunt Bessie's Thins" no pal..this poster has no gripe against people who work hard and are successful.

No gripe at all...

What I have a gripe against though is lazy weak kneed public servants throwing buckets tax payers money at a shower of moderately talanted gimps and paying them more that the President of the United States.

Now I have a gripe there .....it is a complete disgrace.....and I am happy that at last someone has grown a pair and these Mothers are being called......

It's not like any of them are being headhunted by any other foreign network. The reason for this is because most of RTE's "Stars" are unlikable and mediocre to say the least. It's amazing how much they're earning if you think about it.

Can you imagine the BBC contacting Katherine Lynch for a presenters job? Slash their wages and let them leave if they want.

So where I don't think there worth the money they get paid,it certainly is to much and as we tax payers pay them its not on,I do think that most of them are good tv/radio presenters and quite enjoy listening to most of them.
