R-hop vs J-hop

    Just ordered some of these contact patches from the US, apparently these give greater contact to the bb as it passes through imparting better hop and supposedly better range, I will post more info when they arrive.
    But it got me thinking so I have come up with my own version the J-hop
    What I did was take a thin wax candle the same diameter of the barrel and stuck it in to fill the hop window

    Then I filled the window with silicone sealant and let it cure

    While it cures you have to take a hop rubber turn it inside out and shave down the nub so it's basically smooth, then turn it the right way out and stick it on the barrel. Now I had to adjust the nub on the hop arm by cutting it in half
    I have noticed a marked increase in range. But it was this evening that I tried it and as you know the weather is crap, I will test again in the morning and let you know!
