Do you think this country has a plan B?

by common sense I think we should have a secret stockpile of Irish currency, so if the euro crashes we can have a rapid transition

No,not at all.Central bank as far as I know exchange Irish pounds for euro so they might have some left over. But I highly doubt that and the euro going under.

I'd bet my house on it (mortgage included)

Crashes compared to what? USD, GBP and YEN are all under as much debt as the euro, China wants a weak currency. Switzerland will intervene if the CHF goes too high.

Don't think there is a plan b, there wasn't for the property crash and that was much more certain than the Euro crashing.

You're suppose to say that until plan A fails, otherwise plan A will fail.

    There is a Plan A?
There is me thinking the european politicians are like a pack of rabbits in headlights of oncoming train loaded with all those cans they kicked down the track

the euro as we know it is finished, the most likely outcome is probably a core euro, that has germany, austria, finland, and the benelux countries in it,you would have to have france in there for political reasons, even though economically they wouldent come up to the mark precisely-and maybe sweden, then you would have a core euro, a then you create the institutions to govern the euro,

No. Our leaders are to narrow minded to have a plan B.

what is the basis of this view? Why is the euro finished?

    Just googled "euro finished" there.

Of the top four results, two were zerohedge and two were the telegraph lol

After that it went to various rubbish

If there was a plan B, that would imply that the government didn't have much faith in plan A (stay in the euro). In a currency union, commitment to the currency has to be absolute, or else it won't be stable.

OK - this is actually yet another "they're secretly reprinting the punt!" thread, in slight disguise.

At this stage I'm beginning to wonder who benefits from spreading this one. Wealth management funds, perhaps?

    moderately,
