Just posted this in the Windows forums (before I realised it wasnt the Photography forums...ooops :o:o )
Not sure if this has been posted before (apologies if it has, I couldn't see it in a search of the boards)

There is an update for Windows 7 to allow you to preview RAW files in the 'windows viewer'

    MS Camera Codec Pack

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en....aspx?id=26829
if it's against the rules to multi post Mod feel free to delete as appropriate (it's not spam, just a windows update)

only works with certain raw files. not those of the 600d, unfortunately.

As with all RAW updates, hopefully they will release more updates as they add the newer cameras to it.

600d was released 4 months before this update though. maybe too long for microsoft's wheels to get into motion ;)

Works fine for my 500D. I have noticed though, that it renders the RAW file as is, then tweaks it to give a slight red cast. It only seems to happen on my laptop though, and not my desktop.
