    Hi all,

Just wondering what the process with obtaining a marriage cert is? Sent our signed marriage license back to the registrars office on August 12th by reg post, status is delivered yet haven't heard anything since? I know these things can take time but just wondering am I supposed to ring and enquire or something as I read somewhere about a fee of 10euro to get it?? (on top of the 150e you pay for the please of the license )

I think I assumed a letter of some sort would be sent out to us and was wondering if anyone could tell me the proceedure?

    Thanks :)

    Hi LBD

Yes you have to apply for the certificate the HSE website is www.certificates.ie the other site that has been quoted is a private company and charge much more to obtain a cert. I got stung and ended up paying nearly €40 quid for a cert, when I phoned the HSE office to ask were my cert was they told me that it wasnt their site that it was a private company and their web site is www.certificates.ie so spread the word!!!

I'm married three and a half years and still haven't bothered getting my certificate. It's a non-issue for me, I didn't change my name so didn't need it for anything.
