    Hi boardies,
    I'm making my first wine this week, it's a pomegranate wine. the recipe I have says to "strain the must" what does this mean?

    It would mean strain out all the bits, like the seeds. Many will use muslin bags for this.

    Yes, you are right. Most people use muslin bags to squeeze the juice from the mix and to strain the must. Muslin bag is a better alternative to do this because it’s a loosely woven light cotton fabric and that’s why quite suitable for extraction. Muslin can be used to filter wine of impurities during the decanting process.
