Screen Almost Black on Battery

I have a Lenovo S205 laptop and normally it is fine. However, every now and again it decides to dim the screen almost completely when I plug the battery charger in. It doesn't do it all the time but just occasionally and once it starts, the problem doesn't stop until the laptop is restarted.

In the power options I have it set to highest performance and for the screen to never dim or switch off on battery. Any ideas how to fix this rather annoying problem?

Could be a faulty screen inverter (responsible for powering the back light)
