    Shocking.
I was looking at his website last night with him racing pocketbikes.
Class rider for such a big guy as well.
    RIP

This is not just a sad day for motorcycle racing but a huge loss to Motogp....he was one of only a couple of riders that looked as if he was a true threat to the "aliens" for next year...very very sad....
I feel sorry for Edwards also,,,he must feel like it was his fault Marco died.....
and Rossi too..he witnessed his mate being killed right in front of him..
The last couple of rounds have been just a crashfest , wtf is going on...?
    RIP Marco....

Just finished watching this morning's BBC recording now...

Very sad and there was nothing Colin or Valentino could have done.

As soon as I saw the lid had come off, I expected the worst.

Fingal County Council are certainly not competent to be making decisions about the most important piece of infrastructure on the island. They need to stick to badly designed cycle lanes and deciding on whether Mrs Murphy can have her kitchen extension.

I believe Edwards got on the next plane home. He's devastated. As for Rossi, my heart goes out to him. To see his best friend go like that. Very, very sad. :( A future champion gone.

    RIP Simo #58

Devastated when I heard. I really liked the guy and though he had a big future ahead. I can't imagine how Edwards and Rossi are feeling. My heart goes out to all of them.

    RIP Marco #58

A tragedy. Had him pegged as a future world champion. Reminded me of a young Valentino. Always all out in every race. Was never beaten until crossing the line. RIP

Heard the news on the radio yesterday morning. It actually hit me like a punch to the guts. I was getting to enjoy Simoncelli like everyone else here, and having watched the bikes for over a decade its always frightening to hear any deaths. I know we all love and hate riders, but we never want to hear of any deaths in this highly enjoyable sport.

I was curious to see a video of the crash, as I couldnt really believe it. It didnt look as bad as some of the other crashes were use to seeing, and I still expected him to get up.

He made 250cc enjoyable to watch and on a par with GP when he was in it.

Will remember his floppy hair and riding style. We'll miss him!!!
