Hey guys! just looking for some advice re being fitted for a driver. Just wondering is there an extra charge on top of the purchase of a driver for a fitting or how does it work?? And can it be done in most golf shops?? Im close by to American Golf and McGuirks so all info on them is much appreciated

I'm looking for similar advice. I'm thinking of going to Carton House but I'm not sure if their custom fiting is for just a few or all brands. I've heard good things about Foregolf but if I'm gonna be custom fitted I want to know the specs.

I'm thinking of foregolf for a driver fitting too and cash is relatively tight so am interested in anyones experience with them as regards options presented and prices.

I have an R9 supertri that I am hoping they can alter (if needed of course) and am wondering if anyone had a driver altered by them and if so is there a range of options depending on budget ?

    thanks

Carton House only custom fit customers for Titleist equipment, but they have an excellent setup, which includes Trackman Pro.

I got a driver in Foregolf. I really enjoyed the experience, but it is the only fitting I have attended so cannot say if it was better than anywhere else. It was a few years back now. I got the R7 with a shaft I really liked. I think, but could be wrong, that it was upwards of €420, I have €465 in my head but I cant believe I paid that much for a golf club! You need to ring Foregolf & Carton, and whoever else, to find out what their offering is - what clubs they deal with, do they make alterations etc.

I used Puregolf in Leopardstown to get my driver and fairway woods fitted. Got my current ones reshafted, appreciated the way they didn't push me to buy new ones off them. They actually said my rescue club was fine and to leave it as it is, so they are interested in doing a good job as well as earning a living.
    The results were excellent.
As far as I know they do a wide range of makes, not just Titleist like Carton House. That said, I've heard excellent reports of Carton House for fitting too.
I wouldn't get fitted anywhere without a range, so golf shops would be a no-no for me.

Another (free) option might be to go to McGuirks at Kinsealy range and hit a few drivers and see what works best yourself.

For me, thats the biggest drawback for Foregolf. No way would I shell out €100 for a fit and then not be told the specs unless I buy from them at an inflated price. There's another thread on this in the last few days.

I got fitted in Carton recently and its an excellent set up and the fitter really knows his stuff, only slight drawback is that they only do Titleist, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if you want another make its probably not an answer.

His name is Henry Byrne, as far as I know he's the only Titleist custom fitter there.

Carton House charge €70 for a full fit (Titliest only) which takes 1 hr and 20 mins for all irons and woods. You can decide to just get a driver or fairway woods custom fit or the whole lot. The specs will be provided to you with or without purchase.

    Just made my mind up.:D

Sounds good, good luck with the fitting!

Got my AP2's fitted last year abroad, try them at Carton house. First irons that lured me away from Mizunos!

Can you book this directly with them? I had heard you need to book through your pro and the specs would be sent to them.

Not sure if the specs are given to you or the pro but Carton House said there's no problem in getting the specs. You're correct about the Pro in your golf club making the booking on your behalf though.

No problem in getting the specs, they're also e-mailed to the pro or shop you book through, well, mine were anyway.
