M16 DMR Project, Where to start ?

    I dont want to Import and from what i can see what i want is not sold here :(

    I'm after a bit of this

    What im after is a M16 with a 500mm+ [longer the better] inner barrel that i can add to over time.
    Sick of seeing 4" stubby killers :rolleyes:

    I seen a G&G TR16 A3 and a G&P M16A3 for sale on 2 Sites here but am unshure what one to buy ?
    Open to other sugestions aswell as long as its not a SR25 and it has good internals i wont need to mess with

    g&g have unreal internals. g&p are excellant as well but some people dont like g&p"s. if it was me going for one personally id buy the g&g. hope this helps:D

    G&G man. I have a A&K M16 here which i got of a mate that moved to Australia but I'm thinking of changing it to a DMR, so speaking from my own plan. Start with the internals, new barrel and hop up, then to external like rails (my plan), bipod, CQB grip and scope. obviously if you go for either the G&P or G&G neither will need as much work as this one i have as it's A&K and has been used a lot before the DMR project was started but my advice is to start with the inside and then go to Bipod etc, like i said my plan is to put a rails on it so used that as an example but I don't know exactly what you want from the two examples you posted above but at least it gives you some sort of plan. as for the parts i think you will have to either import or ask a retailer to import the gear you need for you, im afraid i haven't seen any of the parts you're looking for either

    I would go for a G&G i have a g&g m16 not unlike the later of the two example youve shown :) and have to say i love it ! , g&g are top of my list !!

    Standard barrel length for an m16 is 509mm. Some carbines and stubbies are obviously exempt from that statement.

    G&P are the mutts nuts imo and I'd go for a G&P over a G&G personally (I have a G&P stoner 63 LMG and the missus has a G&P m16vn). You can also source quite a bit of G&P kit easily from a variety of UK retailers as well as Irish. Whilst you are technically importing, it's from within the EU and quite close to home so not such a big deal with postage.
