Claiming Tax Back on Education

    Hi,

I'm working full time and doing a masters part-time. As it stands I put €100 per week into an account to pay for it and I know I can claim 20% (less the first €1000) per year.

I'm wondering would it be better for me to put it through the company I work for and taking a cut in pay. The course is actually quite relevant to what I do so it's not like I'm just trying to skrimp either!

Let me know what you's think...

You may be better going through the company. Did you know it's €2000 if the course is full time?

Even then, you can only get relief at the standard rate of tax, so of the remainder of your expenses are say €1000, you'll only get €200 back.

So, if the company will pay it for you, happy days!
