    I want to get multiroom...

so i can watch something else when the sister wants to watch X FACTOR (SH1TE FACTOR)

Also so i can escape to my room and watch important football matches in peace when there are all my nephews and there parents up making noise in the house.

Problem is with the box having to have the telephone line connected??

Will sky let me cancel the multiroom if im having problems connecting the phoneline? I dont want to be hit with Full price charges for the second box!!

I already have a second box from a previous subscription under a different name.

You need to have phoneline connected, another option is sign up to Sky Go and watch it through X Box or your laptop for free.

Forgive my ignorance, but why do people keep refering to laptop or mobile viewing as free. Do you not have to pay for the broadband? I would have thought that video in particular is very data intensive and would quickly eat your monthly allowance unless you are on an expensive "unlimited" package.
Please correct me if i'm mis-informed.

my allowance is 120 GB not too expensive 46eur including off peek calls (not on upc speed but watchable none the less)

As a dedicated FreeView/Sat viewer €46 is about €45.99 more than I can afford or would be willing to pay.

That €46 a month is the cost of his broadband not the cost of his tv service.

Perhaps the op could look into hooking up a fta box for viewing instead,if he goes for multiroom with Sky it'll cost an extra €15 p.m but as I said there has to be an active phoneline attached to the box.

I too would recommend the OP go Free-to-air however if they need to watch $ky for the footie, they will still need a sub.

I know that but my point is that you are not watching for free. For those of us in the sticks who only have a choice of iffy wireless, or satellite BB, it soon gets expensive.

there is no need to have the phone line connected for regular viewing.

Never had it connected here. when installer came we told him we hook it up our selves

    never any issues

Recently received a HD upgrade for an old Sky + box from SKY. Installer couldn't get phone line to work (it never did on either our main or 2nd boxes)
Wasn't an issue... paired card with new box - no probs.
