    Hi there,

Got married in registry office recently. Have a look at this website. It gives you all the info you need.

    http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/Find_a_Service/bdm/Getting_Married_in_Ireland/Civil%20Ceremony%20of%20Marriage.html

Basically, you have to notify the hse of your intent to marry 3 months prior to getting married. To do that, you make an appointment, bring your passport and birth cert. You have to name your witnesses at this stage and give their date of births so from that, I think you'd have to know your witnesses.
You'd need to book a registrar to actually do the ceremony bit so give the local office a ring and they should talk you through everything you need to do.
