    Lightforce 170 vs U-caller 170
Said I'd compare the 2 of these for anyone thinking about buying a lamp.

We were out lamping last night and it was the first time i got a chance to test out the 2nd hand ucaller lamp i picked up and compare it against the lightforce 170 one of the lads got at birr.

The ucaller is scope mounted but that wouldnt make a difference.
The difference between the 2 lights is hard to believe. The lightforce seriously outshines the u-caller and picked up eyes at a much further distance.

The lightforce has a much brighter beam and gives a much better focus. Its also much easier to spot something and easier to see what it is. We could make out the body of sheep and a fox at 250yards+ easily.

The u-caller has a poor focus and the beam off it is all over the place. It cant be tightened into a solid beam and there's alot of light goes to waste shining out the sides. (it light up the ground infront of us sometimes)

Price. The 170 lightorce is 100euro for the handheld compared to the ucallers 60 euro for a handheld.

For the money the U-caller isnt bad and will still pick up eyes at a good distance but its hard to make out what it is, i Wouldn't recommend it for 200 yard shooting with a centre fire rifle but I reckon it will be grand for using it withing the ranges of a rimfire.

We had a clulite left in the jeep too but didnt have another battery to compare it with the other two. I hope to compare it with the u-caller some day. Its what we've used all along to shoot many foxes down the years and flick the switch left and a much dimmer bulb comes on if you need the light to get over a ditch or something.

I cant fault the lightforce at all And it gets 10/10 for me since i cant think of a reason to knock marks off it.
6/10 for the u-caller since it doesnt shine as far, poor messy focus and alot of light wasted going all directions. Its a knock off cheap lightforce so its what i expected. still grand for a rimfire though.

Anyone any ideas how to get a better focus from the u-caller?

nice write up:D its pretty much the price man, the ucaller is cheaper because its not as good as the LF. I have a ucaller and is grand out to 200yards maybe abit further but the LF out shines it all the time:D You get what you pay for. I was going to get one of those ND3 Green Laser but have been seeing alot of them for sale and been told there not that great.
