Using sailing oilies for skiing?

    Hi ,

    Have any of you used sailing oilies ( if ya sail that is ) for skiing?

    My OH uses his cag top sking... he prefers it to his skiing jacket, as it's more fitted.

    Have see others wearing sailing gear...I wouldn't fancy exposing my salted and once yellow bottoms on the poor Alps :o, but I reckon they would be fine.

    Probably depends on the ollies. Big disadvantage is you will need insulation layers for under the, no snow guards in the trousers or jacket, potentially no ventilation zips, no ski pass pocket in the sleeve etc.

    You can kit your self out with a jacket and pants in TK Max for about 150 euro.

    if you are going somewhere high altitude I wouldn't risk it.

    If you get -50 after wind chill, which I experienced last year, you need top quality Alpine gear as a basic safety measure.
