Hey, I have a 2000 vw Bora that i havnt driven for three years for my own reasons. It was running perfectly and never a problem with it and when i jumped it with a new battery it got going very quickly. My question now is what kind of damage could have been done in the 3 years without usage and would it still pass the NCT?

You might find a few oil/water leaks, keep an eye on everything as it warms up.
I would recommend replacing the timing belt before running it as it's very common for it to snap as it will have weakened/perished while lying idle.

I would change the oil for starters, I would then replace the tyres on the car. I would bleed the breaks to get the pedal back up to a good feel. Check the handbrake cable to see if it needs replacing. Could need a new battery also. As said get the timing belt looked at and also the AUX belt.

Look over the suspension to make sure it's not seized up, check for rust even if it was parked in dry conditions also a good valet as the seats may be damp.

As has been said, I'd service the car and give it a good look over and check everything is A-ok. It would also need a good drive aswell before sticking it in to the nct.

Hardened oils seals may be one issue, ball joints I fear will be the biggest problem. You may find your suspension/steering needing attention.

Maybe you used wrong bulbs for the brake lights? contacts in wrong place.
Did you throw away the old ones, if not check them and bring to motor factor.
