I personally would not let it go past 120k regardless of the prescribed interval. It's better to be safe than sorry. It's not like manufacturers always get it right e.g. opel and vw.

Hi,I have 126k miles on the clock now and was told my timing belt was due around now. Any idea how much this change will cost? I'm being told by a main ford dealer it will set me back about €1k for the change?I'm In the limerick area, any recommendations for a garage to do it?

I assume yours is a 1.8TDCI? You should be able to get it done in an independent garage for around €650.

You need to get it done ASAP as you are pushing the limits with it at this stage.

Thanks I got the tiing belt done aat an independent garage last week for €650.

I am worried now that there may be an issue with the gearbox. When I change gears sometimes there is a squeeking noise. Would you mind having a listen to the video I took this morning of the noise, yoou should be abe to hear it.

    Opinions welcome.
