Interesting reading. I knew it had slowed down but not by that much. Also since they reduced the grant and changed the criteria a good number are not availing of the grant, since the figures are from SEAI it's plausible to think that there are more installed than the figures show. I have been saving money over the year to purchase ladders and a mobile tower to start installing solar in the new year (got my FETAC cert last year) I might have a re think.

    Thanks, JohnnieK.

The numbers published by the SEAI are indeed only for the ones
"....subsidised under the Greener Home Scheme."

Are there statistics on the overall numbers incl. non-subsidised installations, for example containing the installations mandatory with new builds?

Solarthermalworld hopes for comments as well ( http://www.solarthermalworld.org/comment/reply/3089 ) Anonymous, no registration necessary.

My 20 something m2 where installed in 2008 and aren't registered as well, so there might be considerable more out there.
