I say Man of War, Cage Contender, Battlezone, Tuff Nuts etc. should stick their heads together in 2012 and have one grand, massive unification tournament. All of their title holders should fight off and the winner should receive plaudits and comely maidens.

    What say ye?

great idea , give it 0% chance of happening unfortunately , too many stars need to align for it to come off , fighters conflicting schedules , injuries , contracted fighters availability , promoters worried if their champ loses it means the other guys show/title is superior and of course under what promotion would this show take place

Interesting idea, would be difficult to pull off. Have you any ideas on how to do it?

Would love to see it but lets be honest, John would want it on his show which is fair enough as it is the biggest in the country right now.

Which means that alot of shows would lose title belts which lets be honest is great for helping to pull a crowd.

Would be great to see a knock out tournament of all the country's champs in weight divions having an unofficial run to take on the CC champs though/ whatever show it'd happen on

Comely maidens? Casks of ale, swords of valyrian steel, a couple of hundred golden dragons and....I need to step away from Westeros I think.

    I likes the idear though.

    No.
The way I see it I'm like The A Team on this one. Things are a bit messed up, no one knows what to do in their small town. Then the A Team arrive, blow stuff up and fire up the arc welder and then they're gone, unaware of the damage they've done to the social fabric of a small rural community. They just blow in shake things up and then leave the details to others.

I'm just putting it out there. Sbg own some belts at the same weights on different shows so obviously that would be a problem, but by and large I think a big ass national unaffilliated title at each weight would be great. Let's do it before it gets like kickboxing and every guy who has ever ducked under a rope gets a national title. Let the shows still have their titles but let their champs fight for the biggy.

    We could call it Battlewarriorchaoscontenderofwar.

    Or just the Irish Title.

Ive thought of this sort of thing before and id say its doable as long as promotions work together. That however may not be easy.

Do a Grand Prix style knockout tournament. The top 8 fighters in each weight division. Share the fights between say four promotions and put a round on per show. (That way the promotion still gets to sell itself individually but the Grand Prix is taken care of also) Whittle them down by the end of the year then the four promotions come together and co-promote the Finals. Have a big show in the form that the old boxing shows used to have with dinner and all put on. Dead posh affair. This could even coinside with the end of year awards if JF is doing that again. That way you can guarantee its will sell out because the MMA community will want to see who the Champions will be for that year.

Thats how i would attempt it.

I think there could be a lot of issues with this event, so I think it should be held on a battleship off the coast.

Promotions could agree who is going to run each weight division for the title initially and then swap around who gets to host the defenses, say each major promotion buys 1 belt and then between them they share them as a whole, for example each show only hosts 1 all Ireland title fight each show.

This would only work if they all played fair, same money would need to be used each show for example!

im my opinion, the guys who hold the cage contender belts are the true irish champions. any promotion can start up and have it's own belt, but because cage contender are the biggest and best show in ireland, i think most would consider the cc champions as the best fighters in ireland.

Cage warriors would argue that I'm betting, especially since they've signed the CC WW champion to an exclusive contract that he can only fight on CC to defend his title

This sounds like a fantastic idea but I believe some of the organisations are run by fighters and some are run by business men which could cause some issues.

I think it's a great idea. As a fan, not a fighter or promotion all I want to see is the best face thes best - so yeah bring it :-)

Something like this might work well for C Class, Their would probably be less barriers at amatuer level . Becoming the irish amatuer champion would be a good goal for C Class fighters giving them something to work towards and provide a good stepping stone to the professional divisions.

So would x amount of shows need to put in x amount of money towards the show. With contacts im sure it could be shown on Sky Sports live. Big names like Marcus Davis vs Pendred, Ben Davis vs Anybody, Few top UK/European names. Oddessy arena would be a good setting.
Cage Wars do it, but only once a year, if even. With some shows joining they could do it 5 times a year and get on level with the UK scene. More guys here would make it to the bigger shows. LONG SHOT
