My brother done this and had to bring the log book and money for road tax to the motor tax office, had to fill out a form in there and they will send away the log book. should have it back within 3-10 days:)

hope this helps. woudnt do any harm to let your insurance know aswell incase of theft or something happens:)

Does the tax disc not state the car colour? To lazy to go out and see. If so, it might be worth getting it done now so you don't get hassle by Gardai etc...

just a question for me a bought a 2nd hand car from a garage color is like red wine something like that but i just notice now that logbook and tax disc says its silver car is about 3 years on me now no hassle on renewing everything. i even check the chassis number to be sure its the same car. will this be any problems in future? thanks a lot

It might not be an issue, but Id certainly be doing some further research on the car to make sure that everything is in order.

Just a matter of going into the tax office and they change the colour on their system and send off the tax book for change. Sometimes they'll insist on seeing the car, my last car was down as blue in tax book when it was actually grey.

As for the comment about the cops not caring.. trust me they care very much.. they threatened to impound my car at a checkpoint. Stupid gits in the Nct centre thought it was blue and put that on the book when they were carrying out the vrt inspection...
