Broken/Replacement Push Flush

    Hi All,

Such a small problem that shouldn't require a plumber but I can't find a fix!

Push flush mechanism on the toilet broke.

I bought a "universal" replacement but the piece is a good inch and a half too long. The bit that it pushes onto (i figured out) can be lowered by the required height but when I do this it no longer has the required power to flush.

Is there something simple I need to do?

Should I try and source an exact replica of the broken part, what kind of Dublin city centre shops should I look at?

Excuse the lack of terminology, I clearly know nothing about cisterns and have only learnt the above from observation.

    Thanks,

    ASBO

Take a couple of picures of the mechanism if you can

These are such a nuisance, so much so that I'd replace the cystern rather trying to do a repair.

The wirquin cistern pack for top flush which co incidently is also sold in woodies is virtually bullet proof.

I have been using top flush 10+ years and no problems and not in the same house.
