I know we have some very well respected Irish fighters fighting on the international scene and what I was wondering is who are the higgest ranking in their weight classes.

Very hard to say. There isnt really a difinitive ranking system out there and the many that there are vary alot. Plus would you consider fighters from the North as Irish or British? That makes a bit of a difference. McVeigh for example. Irish or British?

Womens MMA may not be as high profile as the rest, but did I not read that Aisling Daly was ranked top 10 in her class?

Here here, ais gets very little mention in these talks.

Patrick houlihan is still unbeaten and ppl with worse records have had shots at UFC titles.

Pardon my ignorance on Mcveigh did he train here? Or did he learn his trade at the griphouse?

Joe Duffy was born in Ireland which means he is Irish, which means he would be the highest rank. Doesn't matter that his family moved to Wales, his place of birth is Ireland.

I know McVeigh trained at SBG for a time but I could't tell you for how long to be honest.

I think Ais wins this hands down but there's definitely going to be afew from the current crop that will make a splash Stateside at some point in my opinion.

In his weight class he would be one of them certainly.

Outside of Pickett, who hasn't fought in Europe for a while now (until next month)

McVeigh is easily the best BW in Europe
