Looks like tigers haven't changed a whole lot in over 2 million years, except that they've gotten bigger of course.
    Fantastic name, Panthera zdanskyi.

Quite similar to sharks in a way I suppose which have more or less stayed the same(apart from size too) for even longer.

think the 'sharks stayed the same' nugget is a tad misleading. They've had an absolutely dazzling variety through the ages.

Ah yeah I know there's plenty of different variations alright :D the cookie cutter is the stuff of nightmares.

I just meant how the likes of great whites have been knocking around for 16 million years or so!

Hahaha the cookiecutter shark is adorable!

Awesome, a mini-prehistoric tiger :D Very cool find. I do wonder, though... why is the reconstruction above so long-snouted? I mean the skull doesn´t seem very elongated, and tigers actually have shorter, more housecat-like skulls than lions. The illustration above seems too lion-like to me. Or maybe its just that they didn´t add a lot of fur? :D

The picture looks very jaguar esque to me, and not just colour-wise.

True, the mouth area looks more tiger like I think though.
