No Idle gear in 4x4 2010 Pajero

Hi, my 2010 Pagero is used a lot off road. When you put in 4wd low and are in rough conditions uphill, the idler should prevent it cutting out but it doesn't. The garage say it is working because they went up a gravel hill and said it worked fine there! Anyone got any idea if the Pajero is supposed to have this feature?

Do you mean anti- stall? If so that only works if you are not touching the throttle. If it cuts out on a steep slope you are in the wrong gear. Have you read the manual?

Hi, yes I mean the anti stall. It is supposed to keep the jeep moving forward up steep hills when it meets resistance like a rock. I dont touch the accelerator and it stalls. I have not read the manual and today got word back from Mitsubishi that my model does not have this feature. What a piece of crap 35k 4x4!

There's a limit to what it can do anyway and there's no substitute for driver skill!

My Td5 has it and I can go round an off road course on tickover if I wanted to but it gets boring :)

Trouble with a lot of modern 4x4s is that they can take all the thinking away. Most owners have no idea what their vehicles can do and end up spinning wheels on a flat bit of wet grass.

Go back to the rock, give it some thought and try again ;)
