I thought there was a rugby videos thread but I couldn't find it.

Unreal kick, the man is a genius.

The mad bastid. Love it. That angle must've made the valid distance between posts not much wider than the ball itself...

I'd a thought that would be a standard training kick for a pro or even amateur kicker.

Wilko used to take kicks from the corner flag. Obviously it would be virtually impossible to score but I assume he was trying to hit the post.

Sexton was doing the same before the pre-world cup match v England

Yeah i would have seen a few of the kickers at club level trying that out in their kicking practice.

Not that special. You see school boys doing that out on the training pitch.

Sexto does it for most pre match warm ups. He's just aiming for straight along the line by the looks of it.

Sexton always done his warm up's in Aviva last season for Leinster in front of our seats(ticket holder assidned seat), I think he was more or less taking from same angle!!

What's impressive is that it looks like he might have kicked it straight. It's on the wrong side for him but he has got the banana kick in his locker too. Kicking through the posts from the try line (or attempting to) was a fairly standard drill when I was a kid. I occasionally managed it and as anyone who played with me will tell you I was a fairly useless kicker!

It's a standard enough kicking drill. You start at the corner flag and try to hit the posts. If your foot follows through the ball straight then the ball should fly straight, if you can master that it means that you shouldn't have a weaker side (of pitch) to kick from
